I am a well-established San Francisco Bay Area artist working in a variety of mediums on canvas, paper and prepared panels. I approach my work with a vibrant color palette, energetic rhythm and an intuitive positive response to the subject through the combination of brush strokes and composition.
Whether the inspiration comes from the inner mind, the landscape or people, the work takes on its own spirit and life. Regardless of the theme, it's all about color, rhythm and the intuitive response. The intent is to transmit a sense of harmonious energy and peace to its viewers.
I work in series and produce one of a kind, original pieces ranging from 16” x 20” to 60” x 96” and commissioned work of any size. I enjoy working in both small and large formats.
Assemblages Series: These colorful and lively 3D compositions are my painted canvas strips layered onto stretched wrapped canvas. Additionally, I use artist’s paste to create textures that add to the variation and sense of depth.
The Abstract Series: This body of work explores the imaginary imagery of the cosmos both on a macro and micro level.
The Contemporary Landscapes Series: These pieces are inspired by the beautiful scenes found throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond. They are lively and upbeat work that attempts to capture the feeling and essence of the area.
Portraiture & Figurative Works: Working directly from live models, these colorful works strive to capture the essence of the sitter.
Commission Works: I have 45 years experience producing commission works for public and private settings.
